Framed art

By Yvonne | October 12, 2009

Well it has been a busy week in our household, the boys are back at school ( I really miss those sleep in’s) Little miss at 3 y.o kinder, and it is back to the swimming lessons, basketball training, dancing classes, and everything else having 3 kids entails! I also went to a trade night at our school on Friday night so I was busy creating cards and items for display and also to run classes on. The first thing I wanted  to make was a personalised frame. The other week we ran a stall at the Picture to Page Show and one very talented Melbourne Stampin Up demonstrator Kelly Bowen (who really really needs to get herself a blog!!) created these amazing frames using squares of DSP and ribbon. Kelly created one using the ‘Cheers to You’ set which was basically the design I followed in my frame, I think you will see these frames everywhere – we were all very inspired!

frame1Isabelle and I made it together – she was telling me where to put things and I had to use a little gentle persuasion to stop the frame being covered in pink rhinestones!!! I used the Bella Rose DSP and the 1 1/4″ Square punch which fit perfectly in the shadow box.

Here is a close up. Not sure if you can tell, but I covered the letters in dazzling diamonds as well. I offered this both as a class  for $25 or made to order and it got a lot of interest which was great! The funniest thing was, that when the boys got in from school and I said to them ‘look what we made today’ the first thing they said was ‘well where is mine!’  Back to the stamp desk I go!
