Regional swaps and gifts!

By Yvonne | October 30, 2009

Well it has been a very interesting couple of weeks in our house, and I have to say I am glad that things are on the improve – between broken bones, tonsilitis and all sorts of gastro bugs, we have been having a great old time!  I have had a few people ask me where I got my frames from in my previous post and I would advise you to search out your local variety store – I actually found mine in  small Vietnamese variety store of all places, but I know others have found them in the Reject Shop and other such stores.  Spotlight also have frames, but it depends on your local store what they stock.

We had our Melbourne Stampin’ Up! regionals the other week and I was looking forward to catching up with my team, of which quite a number were coming along, but I woke up feeilng dreadful. I went though, wanting to give away my swaps and little gifts I had made for my girls. I think I lasted a hour before having to leave, but at least I managed to exchange a few swaps! I thought I would show you the swaps I made using Big Bold Birthday

regional-swapI really don’t use this set enough and it is such a fun and versatile set. I used the Boho flower punch for the background. I so LOVE the scallop punch and it just sets off the card nicely.

I love making litle gifts for my team members who attend Stampin Up events, it is just a little something to say thank you for taking the time to come along and they are always fun to make. I found these cute ovesized paperclips at my local Big W store and thought they would make great bookmarks.

how cute are the colours of the clips and they co-ordinated so well with our cardstock. I used the flowers from the level 3 Hostess set Window dressings, stamped in Stazon and coloured them in with my markerspaperclip.

paperclip1and here it is in use in one of the Sookie Stackhouse novels which I just love.

But I didn’t just want to give them a paperclip so made these oversized matchbox books which could hold 2 Freddo frogs, but I thought I would put some little post it notes in there as well!

Here they are, all packaged up, very cute if  I may say so myself. downline-gift2

Anyway, I am off to bed, we were meant to leave for Apollo Bay today but DH is still feeling too unwell to make a 3 hour car ride, so fingers crossed we will make it tomorrow! My kids are dressing up for Halloween tomorrow night for the first time and they are SO excited, Little miss has a witch costume and has been practising her evil cackle – it is so funny!! She wants to paint her face red though, so not sure wat that’s about, but will take lots of pics to share with you lol!

Sorry you were sick for Regionals, a shame. Your swaps are great & gifts so cute. Do you mind me asking, what glue do you use to attach embellishment to paper clips for the bookmarks? I made some last year (bought a stack of clips at Smiggle & then some of the Big W ones) but wanted a better way of gluing them.
Hope everyone at your place is feeling better soon,

Love your swaps Yvonne and your gorgeous little gifts – beautiful colours and very creative! I’m sure all the girls appreciated them – (pity I couldn’t be there this year to share in all the fun but will catch up with you all at camp.)

Boy, you’ve certainly had your hands full with your family’s recent events – I hope they’re all on the mend now and hope that you stay well. I feel for you being sick as well as having to cope with evreyone else’s medical traumas.

    See you soon.
    Hugs,
    Ramona xx
