Happy Father’s Day!

By Yvonne | September 6, 2009

We have had such a lovely day today, the kids woke us up with all their handmade gifts and cards for their dad as well as those highly ‘practical’ gifts that they bought from the school Father’s day stall. They also bought a gift just for dad – a new Singstar volume for the Playtation 3 – nooooo, not at all for them, they weren’t at all swayed by the fact that Michael Jackson’s ‘Billie Jean’ was on the volume and the fact that my kids have all become HUGE MJ fans since his passing had nothing to do with it either lol!. So we all had turns on the microphones this morning which was great fun, a late breakfast, lunch out with the family and then a quiet evening in, very nice!

Anyhow, I thought I would share with you the Father’s Day cards I made for my dad and Father In Law. I always find it hard to do masculine cards, but we have some great stamp sets in our catalogue that are perfect for boy cards.

fathers-dayThis card is so simple, just add some ribbon, DSP and some bling!  Baja breeze is probably my most used colour of late, it just mixes with other colours so well.

Stamps: Occasional Greetings.

Card: Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Walk in the Park DSP

Accessories: Basic Gray Taffeta ribbon, dazzling diamonds, 2 way glue

The stamp set on this next card had never been inked before I am embarassed to say but I think it is great for those boys cards!

fathers-day2Spot the Baja Breeze again lol?  In fact, I think you could make some great girly cards with this set too (the queen of hearts image has the phrase ‘Queen of Everything on it’) The colour scheme here was one we used on a card the other day and it works just as well for feminie cards.

Stamps: Occasional Greetings, Card Games.

Card: Chocolate chip, Baja Breeze, Pacific point, Walk in the Park DSP

Accessories: Basic Gray Taffeta ribbon, dazzling diamonds, 2 way glue, clip assortment

freindship-cardI LOVE the sets from the spring mini, especially the Great Friend Set. I used the butterfly image, inked it in Baja Breeze then rolled the edges in Chocolate chip. The circle frame was inked up in Baja Breeze, then I inked up the swirl image from Baroque Motifs in Pacific point and ‘kissed’ it on the frame.

Stamps: Great Friend,  Oval All, Gallery, Baroque Motifs

Card: Chocolate chip, Baja Breeze, Pacific point, Walk in the Park DSP

Accessories: Baja Breeze ribbon, dazzling diamonds, large oval punch, oval scallop punch, corduroy buttons, eyelet border punch

So I also realise that I have not yet shared the rest of my Incentive trip photo’s here Oops!!! SO here they are!

Really like that colour combo! Such a great ‘masculine’ combo. I love the brushed edges on the butterflies too. The incentive trip is on my to do list, hehe….one day :D
