A photo shoot..

By Yvonne | May 18, 2007

Yesteray I had a taste of what it was like to be famous – well, maybe an accessory to someone famous, or rather, just a bit of background noise if the truth be known. You see out of the blue, we received a call from our wedding photographer, reminding me that we would have been married 10 years this year. (Like I needed reminding – like I dont remind my husband every few days about that one day in October) So as a GIFT, he would take us on a photo shoot .. for free. The word free, usually brings the cynic out in me, but this time,  I was more concerned about the 3 kids, 10 years of wrinkles and kg’s he now needed to photograph! Obviously, the silence he received from my end of the receiver was something he was familiar with, because the next sentence was magic to my ears – “if you are worried about bulges or how you will look in the pic, dont worry, with digital photography, we will get rid of it for you’ Well, if he could have sent me a contract over the phone, it would have been signed sealed and delivered on the spot. So that is how we ended up in this little historical park, kids and of course the 2 dogs in tow. Currently,we are in a drought and have only seen the odd drop of rain for what seems forever, but that all changed yesterday and although the photographer kept muttering ‘what perfect lighting’ ‘what a great look’ I was horrified as my kids decided to discover what exactly a puddle was (yes we have been very dry here) and made quite a mess of themselves. Of course, I had thought little isabelle would look gorgeous in WHITE little stockings.. well he did say digital could fix ever flaw! He was entranced by the kids and chased them through bushland and over falling down fences, rocks and bluestone brick walls, to get that perfect shot – Mum and dad – well we were sort of  invisible. But the dogs – he just thought they were  IT - he is wanting them brought into his studio for a sitting next week?! He has been voted pet photographer of the year and thinks my dogs are his next big award! Now we just have to wait and see what magic he has created! I was so exhausted that I didnt even pack for the scrapping camp I am going on tonight – but I did manage to start a little album last night for Lachlan. (made with 2 bits of cardboard, some coloured card and printed paper – not stampin’ up! though, its from my huge cm stash)  I am going to put his first day at school pics in it. This is what I managed to do last night, I will post pics of the inside when it is finished! Hopefully, the camp will be productive – I am hoping to complete (well, that is a big word) my tassie album, so have a great weekend, and see you on my return!
